  • After school NovaNET (with  bus transportation) ends Tuesday, Dec. 16!!!! 
  • Textbooks will be picked up from classroom on Wed., Dec.17!
  •  Down to the wire...only 3 whole days left to complete course... final exam module for your course (if EOC course...see previous weeks' post for EOC course if unsure)) will take place during final exam schedule (see below for exam schedule). Grades entered in Synergy for ALL uncompleted modules (including Final Exam 20% of final grade) will be "0" !!!

What is going on this week... conference on grade printouts reflecting pass "P" or "F" failing grade seen on 12 week progress/report card distributed this Friday during homeroom.


Questions to ask yourself if failing with an "F"...
  • where am I?
  • have I moved from one module to the next in time to complete course in the next 6 weeks?
    • why not? Am I utilizing all resources provided to me...textbooks (physical and online listed on blog), academic coaches' visitations/tutorials, after school tutoring w/ content area teacher, etc.
    • what can I do better that I am not doing? Utilize notebooks better for testing, use physical graphic organizers posted in class and online ones posted on blog...these will be suggested for use when using study guides & preps for the End of Course (EOC) assessment
    • how can I do better that I am not already doing?
    • when  can I do better outside of class?
    • where can I work on my lessons to save a lot of time?

      Welcome to our third week of NovaNET. There have been revisions to student courses and schedules this week...

      1. Everyone will be  registered during class into NovaNET courseware program and enrolled in courses that were provided to me by your counselors.
      2. Everyone should have taken a pretest for their first module (if nothing else) and started taking notes for practice lessons to take post-test if prompted by program (not passing all practice skills AND receving an 80%.).
      3. If prompted to have post test reviewed by me if not passed 2nd time...a review of content/material in notebook and test material should have taken place one-on-one with me. After school tutoring with content area teacher of course will be recommended if prgress is not being made after our review. Please see me, school website, or class bulletin board for tuturial schedules!

      Please welcome your new teacher Ms. Thomas. I will be working with her as much as possible while I transition into my new role working with students in our credit recovery program, NovaNET. She will be continuing what we started last week with business letter writing. Also 1st & 2nd periods should have posted their poster pictures on their blog with a question allowing a classmate to provide feedback. Blog posting and commenting on another person's blog is also a part of your grade!  The last page of  your Course Syllabus should be returned to Ms. Thomas as well. The full syllabus should be viewed under pages on my blog according to which class you are in.  Course syllabi will be distibuted to parents at open house, Thursday, August 28 @6:30p.m.
